Low-voltage busbars are products made of high-conductivity copper (copper bars) and aluminum materials, used for transmitting electrical energy, with the ability to collect and distribute power. They are the main conductors used in power plants or substations to transmit electrical energy. Through them, the electrical energy output from generators, transformers, or rectifiers is transmitted to various users or other substations. The selection of low-voltage busbars needs to consider several aspects:
1. Magnitude of load current and short-circuit current
Select a suitable busbar cross-section based on the actual load current and the possible short-circuit current of the system.
2. Power supply voltage level
Select the number and material of the busbar insulation layers according to different power supply voltage levels.
3. Ambient temperature and environmental conditions
Select materials based on the ambient temperature and corrosiveness of the environment where the busbar is located. If necessary, select heat-resistant and corrosion-resistant varieties.
4. Contact resistance requirements
Contact resistance directly affects conduction; select different connection methods according to requirements.
5. Wiring configuration
Decide on the form of wire or rail based on whether it is fixed or mobile application.
6. Protection level requirements
Select the appropriate insulation level based on the protection level requirements for the environment where the busbar is located.
7. Radiation and heat generation
Calculate the current radiation and heat generation when the busbar is loaded. Take heat insulation measures if necessary.
8. Standards and specifications
Follow industry standards and specifications, and manufacture and use busbars according to regulations.
9. Economic rationality
Based on meeting the Technical Index, select economically reasonable busbar products.
Considering the above factors comprehensively, select low-voltage busbars that meet actual needs and are safe and reliable.
